GH'S NEWEST COUPLE: GEORGIE AND SPINELLI?
— By Tom Stacy
There's a new couple on the Port Charles horizon — well, maybe. While Georgie is starting to see the ultimate computer geek, Spinelli, in a surprising new light, he still only has eyes for his beloved "Blond One," Lulu, who's already involved with bad boy Logan.
"Spinelli is creative of the mind and thus, he does not have a lot of real-world experience in romance, to put it mildly," chuckles GH Head Writer Robert Guza, Jr. "He's a person who tends to obsess, be it over a computer game, barbecue chips, orange soda, the fair Lulu and on GH: NIGHT SHIFT, he even started going to fair Jolene because she bore some resemblance to Lulu. Spinelli has real tunnel vision."
Hence, as Georgie grows more and more attracted to Spinelli, he remains totally oblivious. "Spinelli obsesses," Guza continues. "So, what happens to an obsessive man when someone obsesses over him? Now when I say obsessing on Georgie's part, I don't mean this in any kind of stalker way [laughs]. This is much more respectful. This has all the ingredients to build into a full-tilt romance."
Well, that is, if Spinelli ever wises up. "The question is, once Georgie comes to realize that she has a thing for Spinelli and he remains clueless, how does Georgie convince him to see her as more than just a friend or the loyal little sister?" Guza queries. "In fact, she starts to get ticked off that he calls her all these nicknames that are diminutive and relate to Maxie or Lulu. She wants her own nickname and he's going to have trouble coming up with it. We are going to commit to a miniromance here and the question is when or if Spinelli will realize that what he's looking for is, in fact, in his own backyard. It's going to be fun."

"Spin City: Is Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) wise enough to give up his crush on Lulu for a chance at a real romance with Georgie (Lindze Letherman)? Does ... not ... compute."
